About
Notes about golf, not a golf club
Notes on reading a scorecard, understanding a handicap and keeping score in recreational golf, written for players new to the course.
Who keeps these notes
This site has been run by a new owner since November 2026. The responsible unit is recorded as Dorado Golf Course Notes. No named individual is published as an author until that person is assigned to the site and their details are checked; until then every note is signed by the editorial desk.
What this site is not
- It is not a golf club and has no members, no course, no tee times and no clubhouse.
- It is not affiliated with any earlier owner of this domain name, and it does not speak for them.
- It does not sell equipment, lessons, or green fees, and it takes no bookings.
What the domain was used for before
This domain once belonged to a private golf club in Arizona operating as El Dorado Country Club, and was later taken over by another group running an unrelated entertainment site. The current owner bought the domain and started this new set of notes in November 2026. This site is not that golf club, does not represent it, has no course, and holds none of its content or membership records.
Addresses from those periods are deliberately not restored. Folders that once held unrelated material, and the old paths for offers, games and registration pages, all answer 410 Gone: the content is finished, not moved.
What these notes cover
- Scorecards: the columns, the totals, and the boxes people leave blank.
- Handicaps: what an index is, and what a course handicap does with it.
- Rules questions that come up in ordinary weekend play.
- Practice arithmetic: how many balls, how much time, what to track.
Corrections
If a rule is described wrongly, or a figure is out of date, write to contact@doradogolfcourse.com with the note's address and the line you doubt. Corrections are dated on the note. The process is set out in the editorial policy.
