The desk
Dorado Golf Course Notes Editorial Team
The desk behind Dorado Golf Notes chooses the questions this site answers. It follows the method set out in the editorial policy: question first, published reference second, prose last, and a source list at the foot of each note.
What the desk writes about
- Scorecards: the columns, stroke index, totalling a round and signing it.
- Handicaps: the index, the course handicap, and the numbers a recreational player is asked for.
- Procedure: the rules questions that come up in ordinary club and public-course play.
- Practice: how to plan a range session and what to keep track of.
How a note is checked
- The rule or procedure is read in the published reference before drafting begins.
- Any simplification of a rule is flagged in the note itself.
- A reference work is listed for every claim a reader could not verify alone.
- Notes are drafted with generative AI. Before a note is scheduled, the site owner reads it and approves its scope and the sources it lists; notes are not edited line by line. Each note shows the label “AI draft, not edited” and lists its sources at the end. A separate review compares notes with their sources, and a note in which that review finds an error is taken off the site until it is corrected. The full rules are in the editorial policy.
What the desk will not do
The desk does not write about play for money, does not review equipment it has not handled, and does not publish anything from an earlier owner of this domain. It does not name an individual editor until that person is assigned to the site and their details are recorded.
